Second Day to Bend

Norene and I took a few extra winks this morning while most of the group went off to the Samoa Cookhouse for a big breakfast. Monday is our diet day and we had half a banana and a yogurt that lasted all day until dinner in Grants Pass.

After stopping for gas in Eureka we met the group around 10AM just coming out of the Somoa Cookhouse. Don gave us instructions for the day and we were off. A bit down the road some had to fill up with gas as they had not stopped in Eureka earlier.

Seems like we are still using a bit more water than normal at freeway speeds, so we had to stop and fill the radiator with about a quart of water. Then back on the road.

Don took us on a beautiful byway that was one of the most magnificent displays of nature we have ever seen. The redwoods were immense and the foliage altogether was so green and lush. This was a very special and a place you could not be in awe of, just magnificent.

When we got to Cave Junction it was after 3PM, we decided that it was too late to go up to the caves and along with the Barrett's we headed for our motel in Grants Pass. About 7PM we gathered up a group and headed to the Taprock Northwoods Grill for a great meal on the patio overlooking the Rouge River.  All in all a great day and with no big issues with any of the cars.
